2026–27 Events Calendar

Every event on the shared Lark calendar, from the autumn 2026 conference season through to the Festival of Education in July 2027. Organised by Zoe Holley. Each entry carries the cost, expected outcomes and typical attendee profile held on the calendar entry, or researched from the event’s public listing where the entry is thin. Updated 28 August 2026: three organisers have now put money on the table, and two of the three have a date attached.

Four events added 13 August, to fix an imbalance

Seven entries are free events for nursery and early years staff, and three of those are the same roadshow repeated in Manchester, Bristol and London.

So four buyer-facing dates were added: CST on 15–16 Oct for trust chief executives, NCASC on 11–13 Nov for directors of children’s services and elected members, the Schools & Academies Show on 18–19 Nov, and Bett on 20–22 Jan. None of them clash with anything already held, and they fill a November that had only one event in it.

The trade worth making: attend one of the three identical early years roadshow dates rather than all three, and the freed days and travel budget cover NCASC and CST instead.

Two days are heavily double-booked

Fri 2 Oct carries four events — MATPN’s second morning in Bath, the SEND in Early Years Conference in Coventry, the National Education Show in Cardiff and the Early Years SEND Roadshow in Bristol. Four cities, one day.

Fri 9 Oct carries five — the Tes SEND Show and Early Years SENCO Day in London, NAPCE in Worcester, the Excel in Education Summit in Birmingham and Together for SEND in Kent.

Nine of the 32 entries sit on those two dates, so most of this calendar is a shortlist to choose from rather than a schedule to work through.

Wed 11 Nov is a third, and a straight either-or: NCASC runs 11 to 13 November in Liverpool, and The Education People Show is that same day in Kent. Both are added below. NCASC is the stronger room for directors of children’s services; the Education People Show is free, one day rather than three, and names local authority education leaders in its own audience.

Two decisions are live right now

Today, Fri 28 Aug — MATPN’s 25 per cent discount was offered as a one-off on a package a departing sponsor gave back. Millie held it “until the end of this week” when she wrote on Monday 24 August, so the hold expires today. The figures came through in writing on Wednesday, so nothing is waiting on PNE any more. It is waiting on us.

Thu 10 Sep — the IncludEd early-bird window is said to close that day. The enquiry has been submitted through The Difference’s web form, which is the only route they offer, so this one is now waiting on them rather than on us.

Bett has no deadline attached, because Bett has still not put a price in an email. Gary Kakoullis is on leave until 7 September.

The offers received so far

3 organisers · 1 priced in full

Three of the shows on this calendar have come back with something concrete. They are at three different stages, and only one of them has a number you could put straight into a budget. Everything below is quoted from the organiser’s own email, with the date they said it.

MATPN South West

Priced in full Millie-Mae O’Neill, PNE · 1–2 Oct 2026, Apex City of Bath

£9,749.25 £12,999

Silver package, + VAT, after a one-off 25 per cent discount. Premium Silver is £12,749.25 + VAT, down from £16,999.

Why the discount
A sponsor pulled out after paying a deposit, because their head of education left the business. PNE released the package at 25 per cent off. Millie confirmed on 26 August that she can apply the same 25 per cent to any Silver or Gold package, not only the released one.
What it buys
A guaranteed minimum of 9 one-to-one meetings, with up to 14 possible in the schedule, and all delegate contact data, which is included at both Silver and Premium Silver. Premium Silver adds the “Dragons’ Den” session: a 60 second pitch to the full room, which is itself how you generate more meetings.
The room
99 confirmed delegates from 65 trusts, of whom 37 are CEO level and 46 are C-suite. There is no delegate ticket for this event, so a sponsor package is the only way in.
Payment
Normally 30 days from signing. A 20:40:40 phased option is available if that suits better.
Deadline
The hold expires today. Millie offered on Monday 24 August to hold a package “until the end of this week”. She has the Silvers and one Gold.
Worth knowing
The £11,999 and £15,999 we had been working from were 2025 introductory rates. This year’s list is £12,999 and £16,999, and the 25 per cent comes off those. Millie volunteered that correction herself before it went to the decision makers.

Schools & Academies Show

Answer due 5 Sep David Hickey, GovNet · 18–19 Nov 2026, NEC Birmingham

£14,800 or £17,950

+ VAT. The two shapes actually being weighed: a 3m × 2m stand at £6,300 or a 3m × 3m at £9,450, each plus the £8,500 SEND theatre speaking slot.

The parts
£6,300 buys 6 square metres, shell scheme with name board, lights, power and carpet, a website listing, a 100 word profile in the guide, 2 stand passes and pre-event marketing. £9,450 buys 9 square metres and 5 passes. The £8,500 speaking slot is charged on top of a stand, not instead of one: a 30 minute session, branding on the theatre signage, a leaflet on every chair, and the contact details of everyone who attends it.
The room
3,500–4,000 unique visitors, over 1,000 schools and academies, 620 individual trusts across the last two shows, and 75% of the top 50 trusts. Over 80% of school and trust attendees are senior leadership.
Answered now
The local authority share is about 15 per cent, which was the number that decided this one for us and was missing a fortnight ago. David explains it as schools leaving councils for trusts. Separately, 47% of all registered attendees name SEND and inclusion as a key reason for coming.
Scarcity
One SEND theatre slot is left, day two at 11.20am. David said on 25 August he would try to hold it but another company has been asking. Stand J47 was expected to sell that same day, leaving the left side of C49 as the best remaining 3m × 3m.
Also included
ConnectEd, their meeting platform, opens six weeks before the show so you can book one-to-ones with visitors in advance, with their team helping. The co-located EdTech Summit and Independent Schools Conference are part of the show and are not charged separately.
On the table
5 per cent off per show for booking Birmingham 2026 and London 2027 together. Zoe has declined to commit to a second show before the first is decided.
Deadline
Friday 5 September, promised in writing on 21 August, with a call booked that day.

Bett UK 2027

Still no figure in writing Gary Kakoullis, Hyve Group · 20–22 Jan 2027, ExCeL London

Not quoted

A proposal arrived on 18 August after a call, but it is a web page rather than a document, and no figure from it has been repeated back to us in an email.

What arrived
A live proposal page holding, on separate tabs, the stand pricing, the floorplan, the audience insights and an education priorities report: proposal.bettshow.com. Because it is a page rather than an attachment, nothing in it is pinned to a date or a signature, and it can be changed underneath us.
The only numbers
Over 100 sponsorship items, from £2,500 for an advert on a razor screen to £46,000 to sponsor the Government Lounge. Stand prices vary by location, stand type and how many sides are open. That is a range, not a quote.
Still unanswered
Three of the four asked on 13 August: the entry-level price to exhibit; whether a provider can attend as a visitor without a stand and what that costs; and the deadline for proposing a SEND theatre session.
Now answered
The audience question, but from their own report, which sat unopened in the inbox for a fortnight. Of 37,616 attendees, 42 per cent are international and 7,512 are other suppliers. Multi-academy trusts are 9.6 per cent of the education audience, about 1,600 people, and there is no local authority category at all. SEND is the third-ranked challenge at 33 per cent, behind generative AI at 60. Full numbers in the January entry below.
Who to chase
Gary is on leave until 7 September but checking email. Doug Fairbrother, Head of New Business for Bett Global, is covering and has offered to help: doug.fairbrother@bettshow.com.

What the three add up to. Taking MATPN at Silver and the Schools & Academies Show at the smaller stand with the speaking slot comes to £24,549.25 + VAT, before Bett, before travel and before stand build. That is the number to put in front of the decision makers, rather than three separate ones.

What each one actually buys, in one line. MATPN buys meetings: nine guaranteed conversations with trust chief executives, and the contact list afterwards. The Schools & Academies Show buys reach and a stage: two days in front of up to 4,000 leaders, 15 per cent of them from councils, with 30 minutes of our own in the SEND theatre. Bett would buy reach and positioning — but having now read their own audience report, it buys much less of our actual buyer than the headline 37,616 suggests: no local authority category at all, trusts at under a tenth of the education audience, and one in five people in the building selling something. It still has no price attached, but the case for it is now weaker on evidence rather than merely unproven.

The awkward bit. MATPN’s discount runs out today and the Schools & Academies Show answer is due in a week, so both of the decidable choices land before Bett has given us anything to compare them with.

English Statewide Conference

ESL statewide conference — flagged by Ross Clements

Video call available Not recorded
All day
Detail sits with Ross, not the calendar

Ross Clements passed this one on: it is the ESL statewide conference, which is why searching it as a mainstream English-curriculum event returns nothing — it is not in the UK education conference listings. The calendar entry itself still carries no organiser, venue, cost or booking link, only a title and a Lark video-call link, so those four still need to come from Ross before anything can be planned or budgeted around it.

Live offer — the hold runs out today, Friday 28 August

A partner pulled out of this event after paying a deposit, because their head of education left the business, and PNE released the package at 25 per cent off. Millie wrote on Monday 24 August that she could hold something “until the end of this week”, and that she has the Silvers and one Gold available. Every figure we asked for came back in writing on 26 August, so nothing is outstanding with PNE. The only thing left is our answer. The South East’s largest education exhibition and conference, CPD accredited: a conference programme, workshops, and an exhibition of suppliers to schools and academies.

Who attends

Head teachers, finance directors, bursars, business managers, governors, local authority education leaders, PTAs, IT managers and senior leadership teams, across state, academy and private sectors. It names local authority education leaders in its own audience description, which very few events on this calendar do.

All day
Found while looking for something else — and it is the opposite of what was expected

This was added on 28 August during a search for practitioner-facing events, on the strength of a listing describing it as being about “learning and teaching”. Reading the organiser’s own audience description corrected that: it is a leadership and commissioning room, not a teaching one. That makes it more useful rather than less, and free. The catch is the date: it is the same day NCASC opens in Liverpool, and NCASC has still not replied to the 13 August enquiry, so that trade cannot be settled yet.

SEND theatre speaking slot £8,500, charged on top
Together: £14,800 or £17,950 +VATFull packages quoted by David Hickey, GovNet, 18 Aug 2026. The £6,300 buys 6 square metres of shell scheme with name board, lights, 500W power and carpet, a website listing, a 100 word profile in the event guide, 2 stand passes and pre-event marketing support. The £9,450 buys 9 square metres and 5 passes. The £8,500 case study package is a 30 minute session in a theatre of your choice, branding on the signage outside it, a leaflet drop on every chair, and the contact details of everyone who attends the session (name, job title, organisation, email, phone, interest area), subject to opt-outs. Attending without a stand remains £799 +VAT a head, show access only. A further 5 per cent per show is available for booking Birmingham 2026 and London 2027 together

Expected outcomes

A large exhibition rather than a closed conference, supported by the Department for Education. The co-located EdTech Summit and Independent Schools Conference are part of the show and are not charged separately, so one exhibition package reaches all three audiences. Every exhibitor also gets ConnectEd, their meeting platform, which opens six weeks before the show so you can book one-to-ones with visitors in advance, with their team helping set them up. Booking is a simple e-signature, not a long contract.

Who attends

3,500–4,000 unique visitors: over 1,000 schools and academies, 620 individual trusts across the last two shows, and 75% of the top 50 trusts. Over 80% of school and trust attendees are on their senior leadership team. The local authority share is about 15 per cent — the figure that decides this one for us, answered on 17 August. Separately, 47% of all registered attendees name SEND and inclusion as a key reason for attending, which is the strongest audience signal on this calendar.

All day
Three sample delegate lists came with the packages, and one of them is the best evidence on this page

GovNet sent three lists of past attendees as pictures inside the emails, which is why they were missed at first. One is SEND-specific, and it is the single most useful document in this whole review. It names real councils in the room — East Riding of Yorkshire, Hampshire, North Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire and West Northants — and the job titles are exactly the people who commission what we do: Head of SEN, Director of SEND and Inclusion, Trust SEND Lead, Designated Clinical Officer for Children Young People and Families, Designated Medical Officer SEND, Inclusion Manager, Lead Auditor SEND, Practice Lead SEND, SENCO and SEND Nurse. The other two lists are the general show: London Borough of Islington and Leeds City Council alongside trusts including Astrea, United-scale names such as The Khalsa and Woodard, Heart of Mercia, Invictus, Kenilworth, Endeavour and Wessex, with the titles running CEO, CFO, COO, Director of Education, Director of School Improvement and Head of Post 16.

Fully answered — and now down to one held slot and a promised date

Everything asked on 13 August has been answered. The local authority share is 15 per cent; the speaking slot is £8,500 on top of a stand, not included in one; and the stand contents are itemised above. What remains is scarcity and a date. One SEND theatre slot is left, day two at 11.20am, which David said on 25 August he would try to hold although another company had been asking that week. Stand J47 was expected to sell the same day, leaving the left side of C49 as the best remaining 3m × 3m. Zoe told him in writing on 21 August that the answer would come by Friday 5 September at the latest, and a call is booked for that day. Hyve Group · added 13 Aug

ExCeL London Sponsorship £2,500 – £46,000 Same week as IncludEd
Cost

Exhibiting price still not quoted in writing.A call was held on 18 Aug 2026 and a proposal followed the same day, but it is a live web page rather than a document or an attachment: proposal.bettshow.com. Stand pricing sits on a tab inside it, alongside the floorplan, the audience insights and an education priorities report. No figure from it has been repeated back to us in an email, so there is still nothing dated or signed to put in a budget, and the page can change underneath us. The only numbers Hyve have written down remain the sponsorship range: over 100 items from £2,500 for a razor-screen advert up to £46,000 to sponsor the Government Lounge, which carries branding plus staff access to the room where government officials sit. Stand prices vary by location, stand type and number of open sides

Expected outcomes

The largest education technology exhibition in the world: 37,616 unique attendees, 59,535 total footfall, 809 exhibitors and 550+ speakers across 130 countries. The one event in the year where being an online school is the proposition rather than a footnote. There is a dedicated SEND zone, separate from the teaching and learning solutions zone and with a different visitor profile, and nine themed theatres take speakers, SEND among them. What visitors say they came for is the awkward part: the top challenge is generative AI at 60%, then curriculum and assessment at 42%, with SEND third at 33%. On products, 41% want AI-powered solutions and only 14% name virtual learning environments including hybrid — the closest category to what we actually sell.

Who attends

Read at last, on 28 August, from the audience report Hyve attached on 14 August — and it is not the audience we assumed. Of 37,616 unique attendees, 42% were international and 7,512 were other solution providers, roughly one in five people in the building. 16,605 came from education institutions. Of those, state schools are 42.4% and multi-academy trusts only 9.6%, which is about 1,600 people. Private and independent schools are 24.9%, a quarter of the education audience and not our market. There is no local authority category in the breakdown at all — the nearest is “Government, National Group or Trade Agency” at 1,551 people, and that count includes UNESCO, the OECD and overseas ministries. On seniority: 12.7% are C-level, 15.5% senior leadership, 18.1% head of department or director, while 19.2% are teaching staff and 11.8% support staff. A quarter of attendees hold budget responsibility under $10,000.

All day
A proposal has landed, but the four questions are still open

Gary Kakoullis sent the proposal page on 18 August after that day’s call, and Zoe confirmed on 21 August that it is under review across the whole 2026/27 events budget. Question three is now substantially answered, not by Hyve but by reading the report they attached on 14 August and nobody opened until 28 August: see the audience breakdown above. Three questions remain unanswered in writing: the entry-level price to exhibit, whether a provider may attend as a visitor without a stand and what that costs, and the deadline for proposing a SEND theatre session. Gary is on leave until 7 September but checking email; his colleague Doug Fairbrother, Head of New Business for Bett Global, is covering (doug.fairbrother@bettshow.com). The practical ask is short: put the smallest stand price in an email. One caveat on the report: it is Bett UK 2026 data being used to sell the 2027 show, which is normal practice but means every figure describes a show that has already happened.

Four days after IncludEd, also in London

The IncludEd Conference runs 16 and 17 January at the UCL Institute of Education, and Bett opens on the 20th at ExCeL. Two London events inside one week, so they could be handled as a single trip with one set of travel and accommodation costs rather than two.

NAVSH Annual Conference

National Association of Virtual School Heads

The Eastside Rooms, Birmingham On enquiry Deadline missed — no reply
Cost

Not published for 2027 — exhibitor stand pricing on enquiry. Two addresses are in play: the stand enquiry route on file is conference@navsh.org.uk, but both speaking emails went to info@navsh.org.uk. Stands are tiered and released in two phases, half in each, so a later stand enquiry is not necessarily shut out. Historic reference only: the 2021 online conference charged £100 exc VAT for the first four delegates from one team and £50 after — a virtual delegate rate, no guide to an in-person stand

Expected outcomes

Children in care, care-experienced young people and children with a social worker — how identity, lived experience and systemic inequality intersect in their lives. The one date on this calendar aimed squarely at the virtual school audience.

Who attends

Virtual School Heads and Virtual School Teams, with leaders, practitioners and policy makers. Purple Ruler cannot buy a delegate ticket — NAVSH restricts those to VSHs and their teams. The routes in are an exhibitor stand, or a speaking or hosting slot.

All day
The speaking deadline had already closed — and there has been no reply to either email

This is weaker than it first looked. NAVSH’s Call for Speakers closed on 31 July 2026, before we wrote, so the 12 August email is not an application sitting in a queue — it asks NAVSH to accept a late expression of interest, which they are under no obligation to do. Zoe chased on 18 August, adding the delivery footprint. Neither email has been answered: ten days since the chase, sixteen since the first. One thing the exchange does settle: a 2027 conference is being planned, because there was a published call for speakers with a theme around leading teams through change — so the earlier note here saying NAVSH had published nothing for 2027 is wrong. It still does not confirm these March dates, which remain an expectation against a 10–11 March 2026 precedent at the same venue, so hold off on travel. If it does land, we have promised a 48 hour turnaround on a session title, a 250–300 word overview, the format, a speaker biography and relevant experience — none of which is drafted. That is worth writing now rather than after a yes arrives with the clock already running. The entry’s description, which previously held text about “the navigation and shipping sectors”, was corrected on the calendar on 13 August 2026.

Louisiana Department of Education

New Orleans Convention Center, USA USD, booth fee
Cost

Booth fee not stated — and priced in USD, the only non-sterling entry. Each booth covers registration for 2 attendants; additional attendants are $249 each

Expected outcomes

This is an exhibitor invitation, not a delegate ticket. The LDOE is inviting approved professional learning partners and non-profits aligned to its priorities to apply for the Education Expo, which connects Louisiana educators with partners outside the scheduled sessions for Q&A, relationship building and sharing practice.

Who attends

Louisiana birth-to-grade-12 educators, preparing for the 2027–28 school year. Exhibitors are LDOE-approved professional learning partners and non-profits — Purple Ruler is LDOE-approved, so eligibility is settled and only the booth fee is outstanding.

Hard deadline — applications close 29 Jan 2027 Payment due 16 Apr 2027 Applications open mid-Aug 2026 Optional briefing webinar 17 Aug, 10:00 — recorded, so not a deadline
One inference to be aware of

The invitation gives the webinar as “August 17th at 10 a.m.” with no year and no time zone. It has to be August 2026, because the same paragraph says the application window opens mid-August and closes in January 2027. 10:00 in Louisiana is Central time, so 16:00 UK. A recording goes on the LDOE website either way.

nasen — the national association for special educational needs · added 28 Aug

Birmingham expected — unconfirmed £109 in 2026 Date NOT confirmed
Cost

£109 at the 2026 editionIncluding lunch and refreshments. Nothing is published for 2027, so treat this as the best available guide rather than a price. Around a hundred pounds a head for the densest room of SENCOs in the year

Expected outcomes

A full day of practical SEND CPD. The 2026 edition ran 20 sessions with 40+ speakers on the theme “Inspiring SEND Innovation Through Times of Change”, covering SEND reform, inclusive practice, early intervention, assistive technology, parental partnership and specialist-mainstream collaboration. Speakers included Annamarie Hassall MBE, Adam Boddison OBE, Lorraine Petersen OBE and Barry Carpenter CBE.

Who attends

SENCOs, teaching assistants, tutors, support staff, teachers, early years practitioners, educational psychologists, inclusion managers and leaders, newly qualified teachers, senior leaders, head teachers, governors, consultants and students, alongside parents and carers. The most precisely matched practitioner audience on the calendar for a SEND and alternative provision business.

All day
The date on this entry is an expectation, not a booking

nasen has published nothing for 2027. This sits on the first Friday of July 2027 purely by analogy with nasen LIVE 2026, which ran on Friday 3 July 2026 at The Vox, Resort World, NEC Birmingham. Confirm before booking anything. No enquiry has been sent — worth asking for the 2027 date, the delegate rate and exhibitor options in one message. Why it matters commercially: a SENCO does not sign the contract, but very often names the provider, and this is where they are.

Festival of Education 2027

17th edition · added 28 Aug

Wellington College, Crowthorne Not yet asked
Cost

Unknown — no enquiry has been sent.Still to ask: the delegate rate, whether a provider can attend without a stand, exhibitor and sponsor costs, and the deadline for proposing a session

Expected outcomes

Two days at Wellington College. The 2026 edition drew 6,000+ attendees and more than 500 speakers. Its character is CPD and ideas rather than procurement, so the value here is reach and reputation, not a stand full of buyers.

Who attends

Overwhelmingly the people who deliver teaching: classroom teachers, middle leaders, subject leads and senior leaders. Over 80% come from state-funded schools and further education colleges. The largest practitioner gathering in the country, and nothing else on this calendar is close on volume.

All day
The biggest room on the calendar, and nobody has contacted them

6,000 people is more than the Schools & Academies Show and MATPN combined, at a fraction of the seniority but a fraction of the price too, presumably — though that is an assumption, because no enquiry has gone in. It also sits at the very edge of this calendar, after the Louisiana summit and in the middle of the summer term, which is a genuine constraint on who could go.

What we hold
  • Bett UK 2026 Audience Insights Report 2.pdf, 11.3 MB, attached 14 August. Unopened for a fortnight. Read 28 August, and it answers the audience question the page had been carrying as unanswered. The findings are in the January entry above.
  • The proposal page, sent 18 August: proposal.bettshow.com. Tabs for stand pricing, floorplan, audience insights and an education priorities report. It is a web page, so it is not a dated record and can be changed by Hyve at any time.
  • Also on file: a voicemail from Gary, 14 August, saying much the same as his email.

What we hold
  • Three sample delegate lists, sent as images inside the emails rather than as attachments, which is why they were missed. One is SEND-specific and names five councils; see the November entry above. These are the strongest audience evidence in the whole review.
  • The floorplan: floorplan.live, showing stand C49 and the sold J47.
  • A highlights video of the last show: youtube.com.
  • The package details themselves are in the body of the 18 August email, not a separate brochure, so the email is the quote. Keep it.

What we hold
  • Nothing at all. No brochure, no rate card, no delegate list, no prospectus. Six were emailed on 13 August and have not replied. The Difference was asked through their web form, the only route they publish, and has not replied either.
  • The three added on 28 August have not been contacted at all yet — nasen, the Festival of Education and the Education People Show. Nothing has been asked of any of them.
  • Which means every cost on their entries above is either a public listing price or an inference from a sister event, and is marked as such.

Who to email

9 to send · 3 awaiting reply · 3 in negotiation

Fifteen entries still need a cost or a confirmation, three of them added on 28 August and never contacted. Three organisers have moved into a real negotiation (MATPN, GovNet and Hyve, set out in full at the top of this page), three enquiries are sitting unanswered, and the rest have never been chased since 13 August. Westminster Insight organises four of them and Government Events two, which is also the leverage: enquire once, across several events, and ask for a group rate. The soonest unresolved date is 14 September, so the internal one goes out first. O1-KR3 needs a budget signed off by the end of the quarter, and the three live offers are what that budget is mostly made of.

  • The Call for Speakers closed 31 July 2026. Both emails ask NAVSH to take a late expression of interest, which is a favour, not a process.
  • Sent 12 Aug, chased 18 Aug, nothing back. Try conference@navsh.org.uk before concluding they are not interested — both emails so far went only to the info address.
  • Draft the submission now. We promised 48 hours for a session title, a 250–300 word overview, the format, a speaker bio and relevant experience. None of it exists, and a yes would start that clock immediately.
  • A 2027 conference is being planned — the call for speakers proves that. The 16–17 March dates are still unconfirmed, so ask about those in the same message before any travel.
  • Stand tiers and prices as the fallback, plus when phase one and phase two release.
